A listener or a problem-solver?

So, we all have have issues, small, big, or we just want to vent out. Where do you go? To a friend, to a sibling, to a parent.

Usually, when we speak about a problem, or something that is on our mind. maybe not a problem exactly, the first thing we need is a listener, the listener is a person with whom we are comfortable, so that we narrate things in an order, most of the time, adding our opinions, explaining the expressions, the scenery, the climate, etc..

And if we were wrong in a particular judgement, the listener, if not experienced in this venting, starts solving the problem, and may comment that there was a better way the situation could have been handled. And then occurs chaos because we are not done yet explaining, but here is a solution being offered without complete knowledge of the affairs.

A problem-solver is when you are in a soup, or need to take a decision, discussing pros and cons. Literally, a person with whom you can talk without hesitation about your ideas, your thoughts, real opinions of a person or a situation, and then when you both are on the same page, they, as an outsider without bias can help you solve.

Now, from the other side, who are you as a person? Do you listen or you quickly start judging? Do you start solving the problem in your head?
